About The LEAP Centre
How We Began
In 1994 a small group of parents of children with disabilities and developmental concerns got together and formed ‘Cooinda Education and Play’. Their goal was to support their children and each other by seeking out local professionals and services. At that time there was limited help for children with disabilities and developmental concerns in the Albury Wodonga region.
In May 1997, the group became an incorporated association and registered charity and changed its name to The Learning Education and Play (LEAP) Centre for Early Intervention Incorporated.
In 2001, we moved into our purpose built premises at 23 Moorefield Park Drive, Wodonga, made possible by the generous support of local families and businesses. This is where you will find us today.
Our Team
We are a team of experienced professionals who specialise in early childhood intervention. We share our experience, knowledge and expertise with you to support your child's development and learning. We work with you and your child as a team and we learn, support, encourage and celebrate together.
We have speech pathologists, occupational therapists, an allied health assistant and early childhood educator, offering you a complete and comprehensive early childhood intervention service.
We are passionate about our own training and the continued development of our skills and knowledge. We offer practical placements to students from university and TAFE to give them a supportive, caring and professional learning environment. Our vision is to inspire them to choose to work in an early childhood intervention service.
